Design Case Study: Steam Scrubber

Marking my first major program as the fully autonomous Industrial Design Lead, I owned the end-to-end development of the Shark® Steam & Scrub (S7000) from initial sketch concept through to final mass production (MP). Tasked with redefining the hard-floor steam category, I worked cross-functionally with Engineering and Product Development to establish a completely new physical layout, balancing the complex packaging constraints of dual-rotary mechanical scrubbing heads, an internal steam boiler assembly, and human-centered handle ergonomics. My technical stewardship and aggressive DFM advocacy successfully protected a sleek, unified aesthetic through tooling release, delivering a highly successful, category-defining appliance that anchored Shark's premium hard-floor presence for years.
