Design Case Study: Nesting Cookware

My Role: Iterative sketch exploration, concept refinement, CAD development & visualization, DFM and tooling specs

Developed during my tenure at Empire Group as a strategic follow-up to the Vida Sana platform, this end-to-end industrial design program drove the creation of Princess House's premium, space-saving nesting stainless steel cookware line. The project required solving complex geometric and nesting tolerances, ensuring an entire multi-piece ecosystem could seamlessly stack and store within a highly compressed footprint. My role encompassed the complete product design process, from early sketch concepting and ergonomic handle development to advanced 3D CAD modeling and iterative prototyping. I meticulously engineered the stepped wall tapers, low-profile handle clearances, and interlocking lid configurations to prevent metal-on-metal wear during nesting, ultimately delivering final production-ready CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing specifications utilized directly by the client’s factory partners for mass production.
